Hopper Scale
Hopper scale is used for the measurement of bulk materials such as docks, grain depots, power plants, and the batching of chemical and building materials industries. It can completely overcome the problems of large drift and low accuracy of belt weighers, and the measurement accuracy can reach 0.2%.
What Is Hopper Scale?
There are three layers in the whole weighing system. The first layer is the weighing protection hopper, the second layer is the weighing metering hopper, and the third layer is the conveying hopper.
The hopper scale is a weighing electronic scale used to measure the weight of materials in the hopper. It is mainly composed of weighing hopper, support, pneumatic valve, high-precision weighing sensor, junction box, signal cable, intelligent weighing display, etc. After entering the hopper, materials will be automatically measured and the total weight will be accumulated.
The working process of hopper scale
- The instrument controller feeding valve feeds the metering hopper;
- Measure and accumulate weight;
- Open the hopper for discharging and the valve for discharging;
- After discharging, automatically close the discharging valve.

The port “port crane with grab bucket” developed by our company reaches the electronic scale storage hopper (referred to as “scale bucket” for short) for “accurate positioning” and discharging. The scale bucket is used for 1-N times to feed the cargo box (such as containers, trucks, etc.) with a fixed amount of material. The weighing and discharging are accurate and the loading of the cargo box is completed, It realizes the storage and printing of the cargo box loading weighing sheet according to “date and time, shipping unit, ship name, receiving unit, material name, cargo box name, number, loading location, destination warehouse, cargo box loading weight, loading operator, etc.”, and the storage data is used for statistical query and report printing of computer weight management.
The specific implementation method of hopper scale :
“Customized special weighing controller instrument and computer are used. The special weighing controller is responsible for the implementation of loading and status input and interlock control; the computer is only responsible for the input of container loading parameters, downloading the container loading amount to the weighing controller, and displaying the relevant information of the electronic scale (current weight, actual container loading amount, bucket times, unloading door status, infrared light shielding status) It stores container loading information, actual loading weight, statistical query and printing report, etc., and the computer does not participate in the control.”
